The 3rd Sino-African Water Civilization Symposium Held at the University of Zimbabwe

The 3rd “Sino-African Water Civilization Symposium” was held at the University of Zimbabwe. This event was jointly organized by the Sino-African Water Civilization Research Center of the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University and the African Technology Research Center of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology’s “the Belt and Road” International Science and Technology Organization Cooperation Platform Construction Project. Chinese and African scholars discussed mainly on the history and civilization of water, the comparison of water environment, the social effects and economic impacts of water conservancy facilities, the construction and transformation of water infrastructures, and mutual recognition of water resources policy in China and Africa, China-Africa science and technology innovation and exchange. Scholars from the University of Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Education and Science of Zimbabwe, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhejiang Normal University attended the symposium.

During the meeting, Chinese scholars accepted Zimbabwe's national TV interviews, which produced a wide range of social influences and actively propaganda the concept of equal exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Africa.

The 3rd Sino-Africa Water Civilization Symposium in Zimbabwe was prepared for nearly 2 years. It received the attention and support from Zimbabwe’s Office of the President, the Ministry of Information and Public Affairs and Media, the Ministry of Higher Education and Technology, as well as Zimbabwe National TV Station ZBC, and received conference papers from scholars of China and other African countries.
