African Ambassadors to China Visit IASZNU

On the afternoon of December 12, 2018, Charles Kayonga, Rwandan Ambassador to China, Dorana Mssiman, Ambassador of South Africa to China, Mamadou Ndiaye, Ambassador of Senegal to China, and Baudelaire Ndong Ella, Ambassador of Gabon to China visited the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University. Distinguished professor of Cheung Kong Scholars, Director of the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University, Prof. Liu Hongwu, Party Secretary of the Institute Prof. Wang Heng, and Deputy Director of IASZNu Dr. Xu Wei received the delegation.

On behalf of the Institute, Prof. Liu Hongwu delivered welcome address. “This year is the "African Year" in China's diplomacy. China-Africa relations and cooperation have entered a new era.” he said. Liu also highlighted the initiatives and results of the Institute's research and the implementation of the internationalization strategy of the Institute.

On behalf of the delegation, the Ambassador of Rwanda to China, Charles Kayong made a speech. He appreciated the works and achievements that the Institute of African Studies have done and made since its establishment. He believed that in recent years, China-Africa friendship and cooperation have been deepened and the Chinese and African people are expected to further strengthen the communication between the two sides.
